KOR Chapters

The first Knights of Rizal Manual was published on December 30, 1985, during the incumbency of Sir Justo P. Torres Jr. KGCR as Supreme Commander. The manual was an answer to the felt need to systematize and rationalize the rules and policies of the organization to put an order in its objectives and operations.

Since then, the Order of the Knights of Rizal achieved unprecedented organizational growth and expansion, particularly at the start of the 90s. By December 31, 1993, it had grown to 180 chapters throughout the Philippines, and 48 Chapters in foreign countries, and this growth accelerated to more than 300 vibrant chapters with over 36,000 members worldwide.

Activities of Chapters

The chapter activities must align and connect with the essential objectives of the Order following the values that Rizal exemplified. The life and writings of the hero are creative sources of ideas that can inspire the members to create and promote activities that can strengthen and deepen the love of the country and of our fellowmen and encourage meaningful exposure to nature, science, the humanities, and other fields of learning.

Chapters are listed in A-Z alphabetical order, with links to either the  KOR Chapter's -website, KOR-social media pages such as FB, Forums, etc.

Programs and Projects

As a socio-civic and patriotic organization chartered under Republic Act 646, the Knights of Rizal undertakes, among others, the following activities:

  • Publish literature and research to widen the public’s understanding of Rizal and his contribution to the country.
  • Initiate and sponsor oratorical and essay writing contests among the youth in schools on Rizalian ideals or current issues to promote a love of freedom and democracy.
  • Initiate and sponsor choral, art, and painting contests among young and adults and give awards to deserving artists and performers.
  • Conduct literacy and reading classes for the less fortunate, the outof-school youth, and adults. •
  • Sponsor and conduct civic action missions among the poor and underprivileged, distributing goods to the indigents or victims of calamities.
  • Conduct medical missions, especially on corrective surgery and treatment of eyesight problems.
  • Conduct special classes and sessions for street children.
  • Organize the aged for their upliftment and socialization.
  • Conduct regular or special gatherings of people in a community for socialization, i.e., dancing sessions, singing contests, dramatic presentations, and other such activities.

As the members of the Order work and strive to achieve the vision and goals of the organization, the words of the great Rizal resonate, and inspire - ''A life which is not consecrated to a great ideal is like a stone wasted in the fields never to become part of an edifice."
